Prizes
We have hacked SeeYou and set Y=0 to get some acurate scoring to use as the basis for giving out day prizes ... these will not officially be posted but I may get a chance to put them on here at some point ...
Day 1 - Saturday 25th August
21:09 - NON CONTEST DAY
The scorer has been waiting for the last loggers and didn't find the miracle pilot :(
18:29 - The Deputy Director has just returned from the wedding reception he had to attend - typical non pilots they ordered BBQ weather. I am just wondering if there is anything worse than a wedding reception where you can't drink or have your phone on to monitor progress.
18:28 - so now we wait for loggers from as far a field as Bury St Edmunds
17:51 - Everyone accounted for - 23 landouts and everyone else landed back
15:45 - 3 more landouts - 676, C1 and FZW
15:30 - Another 2 - KV and GW
15:26 - 5 gliders have landed out - FRZ, WE, T5, T19, 149
14:27 - First glider starts on task
14:20 - So far 5 gliders have landed back - 168, 296, 486, GCA and JCF - Relights have started
14:13 - All 60 gliders launched in 58 minutes
13:19 - Launching in Progress
13:10 - First launch at 13:15 at Task A
--
Tasks have been set

A few words of wisdom ...
.. from a Tug pilot.
If you work and do your best
You'll get the sack like all the rest
But if you laze and fuck about
You'll live to see the job right out
The job is hard, the pay is small
So take your time, and fuck 'em all
Because once you are dead you'll be forgot
So theres no need to do the lot
Or else on your tombstone, neatly laquered
These three words, JUST FUCKING KNACKERED

You'll get the sack like all the rest
But if you laze and fuck about
You'll live to see the job right out

Suicide Watch ...
... Ray and I are being kept under close supervision as we scrub for the 7th day running.
Prizes were given at briefing with the winner of the FW190 vs P51D dog fight claiming the winners spoils - namely the wreckage ...
Random Prizes were awarded to the Lady pilot who was most keen to sing in briefing and to those who found forks under their tables.
We hope that it will be locally flyable later in the day.
Mice got into the bar and control last night - one lot were polite and paid for their takings while the other lot broadcast over the Tannoy at 1am.
The resident baby sitter is struggling and is looking for a few replacements ... to buy him beer and supervise the bar until the wee small hours.
More later if I've not taken part in the game of Russian Roulette that Ray is proposing.

Are you reading ...
Take a close look around you table in briefing tomorrow.
Anything there you wouldn't expect?
There might be something in it for you ...

Laptop troubles
Thanks to all for the suggestions
There was actually very little water but I now have some fetching watermarks on the screen - here is hoping they will go away.
It is actually time to replace this - but as it has a Serial Port it is worth it's weight in gold.
Perhaps I can get work to get one for me???

Scrubbed
No descision yet
Rebrief or Scrub at 12:00
Before hand the British Team are doing a lecture on AATs and Starting
Last night during the bar games my laptop took 1/4 pint of water on - it is now much heavier than it should be. I have turned it on once briefly and there is evidence of water in the screen. I am hoping it will dry. If anybody has any sensible suggestions on what to do please call Norfolk Gliding Club 01379 677207 and ask for me.

Some confusion
Jack mailed to say that he had no optimism yesterday ...
The optimism was purely a ploy to annoy the IC Boys who went to Parham (based on the WX)
Sounds like they have been sitting in the club house drinking tea the whole time.

Scrubbed today
Like all the other comps happening around the country we have yet to be blessed with the weather.
Horrid
Looks like we may be scrubbing before briefing ...
... today's plans include a trip to the Indoor Karting Centre in Ipswich

High Speed Astir
Fallen back to Task B
Gliders are gridding on the fall backtask
Some people elected to go home for the night and we haven't seen them yet ...
Cloud bases are 2,200' at the moment and first launch is expected to be 14:00 when we get the clearance from the North Sea which promises a 2:30 window.

Winners from Monday ...
HNC Crew - Bob Grieve - lent me a jet washer last weekend, I left it for him in the workshop. We then spent an hour yesterday looking for it. It was definately not here. Bob then went home and tripped over it in the garage.
55 Crew - Michael Pozerskis & Ben Lnagrick - Having been told not to drive in to the camping area as they would get stuck - did it, got stuck and covered the Webbs caravan in mud.
PH Crew - Eric "Houdini" Dibbard - Get cable tied to a chair and still managed to drik his pint
2 Seater P2 - Colin Field - Won the 4 hour 50 min epic Monoploy game - He got a t-shirt and a £5 "it's a wing thing" voucher.

Press Day
The Press Day dawns with more rain ... BBC Radio Norfolk are sending Wally Webb to interview some pilots at 08:15 ... I've got to go and find some likely suspects - however all is quiet.
